One morning, Josef K. is arrested for an unspecified crime. By 10 AM, his public defender has filed the paperwork. By noon, the judge dismisses the case for lack of evidence. Josef K. goes back to work, slightly annoyed but otherwise fine. The most efficient court system in literary history. Kafka spins in his grave.
