Questions about Judge My Cover: gifts, fit, shipping

Short answers to what people ask most: whether a parody book cover makes a good gift, which Kindle it fits, when it ships and what happens if it doesn't fit.

Gifts

What's a good Christmas gift for someone who reads on a Kindle?

Something for the Kindle rather than another book they might already own. A case changes how the device looks every day, and a funny one gets noticed on the train. Our covers make a Kindle look like a bestseller that doesn't exist, such as The 48 Laws of Napping or Moby-Chill, for €19 with EU shipping included. Read the delivery answer below before counting on it for the 24th.

What's a good gift under €20 for a book lover?

A parody Kindle cover costs €19, VAT and shipping within the EU included, so it stays under twenty with no extra fees at checkout. It's personal without being risky: you choose the title that fits their humour, and it only has to match the e-reader they own, not their taste in books.

What's a good Secret Santa gift for a coworker who reads?

One that's funny without being personal. The 4-Hour Nap, Overthinking: The Definitive Guide and Atomic Bad Habits are safe for any office. It only works if you know their e-reader, so ask casually which Kindle they use, or check how to tell the models apart.

What do you give a bookworm who already has every book?

Not a book. Readers who have moved to e-books use their device for hours a day and usually keep it in the plain black case it came with. A cover that looks like a made-up bestseller is the one book-shaped gift they don't have yet.

What's a funny gift for someone who reads a lot?

Something that jokes about reading rather than about them. Each of our twelve covers is a parody title with a fake blurb and fake reviews on the back, so the joke works on the train, at the pool and on the bedside table. Two examples: Moby-Chill, where the whale is not worth the boat fuel, and Eat, Pray, Doomscroll.

Is decorating your Kindle a trend?

Yes. Search #kindledecorating or #kindleaesthetic on TikTok and you'll find readers swapping plain black cases for printed ones, stickers and inserts. A parody book cover is a new take on it: instead of a pretty pattern, the case looks like a book that doesn't exist, so it gets a laugh as well as a second look.

Will it arrive before Christmas?

We can't promise that yet. Every order is a preorder: the first run ships soon, and we put the confirmed shipping date in your confirmation email and on this page as soon as the factory gives it. If it has to be under the tree, check this answer before you order. Until it ships, you can cancel for a full refund.

Can I send it straight to the person I'm giving it to?

Yes. On Stripe's payment page, enter their name and address as the shipping address. The order confirmation email goes to you, not to them.

The covers

What is Judge My Cover?

A shop for fake book covers for real e-readers. Each cover is a folio case for your Kindle printed like a bestseller that doesn't exist: a parody title on the front, a fake blurb, fake reviews and a fake barcode on the back. It's sold by Real-Soft Informatik GmbH in Frankfurt am Main.

Are these real books?

No. Every title, quote and blurb is invented. The titles play on famous books, but there is no affiliation with any author or publisher, and there are no pages inside, only your e-reader.

Which e-readers does it fit?

The first run fits the Kindle Paperwhite 12th generation (2024) and the Kindle Colorsoft, which share one body. It does not fit the Paperwhite 11th generation (2021). Here's how to find out which Kindle you have.

Is there a version for Kobo or Tolino?

Not yet. The Kobo Clara and the Tolino Shine share one body, so a single mould would cover both, and it's next in line if enough readers ask. Leave your e-reader and a wish on the home page and you'll hear first.

What is it made of?

A folio case in printed PU with a soft lining and magnets that wake your Kindle when you open it and send it to sleep when you close it. The design is flat colour and type only.
